In 2019, Google introduced a clever and interactive Easter Egg as part of its collaboration with Marvel Studios to promote the release of the "Avengers: Endgame" movie. This Easter Egg is inspired by the character of the formidable supervillain Thanos from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
To experience the Easter egg, you need to follow these steps:
Open your favorite web browser and navigate to the Google search page by entering "www.google.com" in the browser's address bar.
In the search bar, type "Thanos" and press Enter or click the Search button to start the search.
After the search results appear, you will notice a box called Knowledge Graph on the right side of the screen. A knowledge graph provides concise and relevant information about a search query.
Locate the Knowledge Graph box for Thanos and click on it. It usually presents a brief description and key details about the role.
In the Knowledge Graph box, you can see an animated representation of Thanos' iconic weapon, the Infinity Gauntlet, on the right side of the screen.
Click on the Infinity Gauntlet icon or anywhere in the gauntlet.
After clicking the gauntlet, a fascinating digital recreation of the "Thanos Snap" appears on the search results page. Mimicking a pivotal moment from "Avengers: Infinity War," the search results begin to disintegrate into swirling dust particles as Thanos uses the Infinity Gauntlet to exterminate half of all life in the universe. Gradually, the search results disappear and fade, creating a visually stunning effect.
As an added nod to the film, the number of search results displayed on the page has been precisely halved, reflecting Thanos' fateful act of balancing the universe by eliminating half of its population.
